Hyphen-Con 2014::10 Year Anniversary Edition!
Time to start getting ready for this year's Hyphen-con. Can you believe it has been 10 years already?
When: Saturday Nov 8th and Sunday Nov 9th, 2014
Where: Mordraine's Offices (thanks for hosting again Andy!) [Note, offices will be in the same location in Sorrento Valley area, details/address to follow later]
What: RPGs and Potluck on Sat, Board/Card/other games on Sun. Game swap (bring your old games to trade) either day, but Sat usually has more people and trades. Prizes & other craziness TBD (not sure we have any sponsors this year).
Who: is running things? We vote! So start thinking about what you want to run (max of 2 submissions per GM please). Voting will happen the week of the 12th-18th of October, I'll be posting the 'Pimp your game' thread right after this post. HERE IS THAT THREAD
Why: Because 'The Hyph' is awesome!
Discussion, things I forgot, etc - this thread you are reading right now.
Put your hat in the ring to run games - the 'Pimp Your Game' thread.
More to come later.
--> Make sure to Subscribe to this thread so you will be notified when new stuff happens. I'll be posting to last year's thread so everyone subscribed there will get an email also and I'll send out a mass email to all users. I think Andy or Chris or someone could post to Facebook also, if you like that sort of thing.
--And don't forget the 10th anniversary is the Tin/Aluminum year!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary I think we should have beer this year.

Depending on what we have available I may bring the jockey-box again. I am thinking of brewing maybe 2 beers or a beer and a cider for Hyph. I can do a keg of soda or lemonade or carbonated fruit juice as well if people want.

I'm thinking maybe I should run, or try to run, the first Hyphen-Con game I ever ran, years ago -- Buckaroo Banzai -- but using Atomic Robo, because GOD FORBID I RUN SOMETHING OTHER THAN ATOMIC ROBO. Y'know, to mark this momentous anniversary.

This is why SpaceMonkey is the MVP of RPG San Diego!

Well I suppose I should offer to run Senior Citizen Slaughter.devlin1 wrote:I'm thinking maybe I should run, or try to run, the first Hyphen-Con game I ever ran, years ago -- Buckaroo Banzai -- but using Atomic Robo, because GOD FORBID I RUN SOMETHING OTHER THAN ATOMIC ROBO. I offered Home Makeover again, as Dread this time. I think the first thing I ran was Transhuman Space, but I'm not up for GURPS level complexity again. I think noticing if a stack of blocks fell over is more my speed these days.

I decided to offer Doctor Who or a homebrewed BECMI clone. I'm sure people will go for the Doctor Who game, although the BECMI clone I can run in my sleep. I'm so sick of zombies.
EDIT I'd appreciate the carbonated fruit juice since I'm a light weight. As usual, I'll bring an apple pie, and either a pumpkin or pecan pie.

Yeah. Turns out Julian apple ciders are as good as the hype(but then there's the graff. Can't wait!.) I might make hummus.
What's BECMi?

Ok everyone, home stretch - The Hyph is *this weekend*! Don't forget to think about the following:
* what you are bringing to the potluck
* games & rpg books for the trading table
* boardgames to bring on Sunday
* GMs: your notes & pregens ;)
REMINDER: The venue is at Andy's work building:
The address is:
[Redacted]
[[Saturday the 8th - RPG Day]]
Doors open: 11:30 (hanging out, food, trades, etc)
First Game: ~ 12:00 (or 12:30 if we are realistic ;) - play to 4 or 5pm
Break for more food, Ping-Pong, etc
Second Game: ~ 6:00 - play till 10 or 11
Break for more hanging out; some folks leave
Unofficial ~Midnight game for anyone still around (traditionally short; ends ~2 or so)
[[Sunday the 9th - Boardgame Day]]
Doors open: 11:00
Freeform board games & trading & such
Break for lunch (usually go to one of the eateries around; Sunday isn't so much with the potluck)
More Freeform board games & trading & such
End around 6pm or so
Any Questions - let us know!

Hey, all:
I AM coming, but am running a bit behind. So if my game could run in the PM slot, that would help my life extensively! Thanks!
