the wrestler
last night i watched darren aronofsky's the wrestler, starring mickey rourke. it was very good and would recommend it to everyone. poignant, yet not overly sentimental. believable characterizations. probably my favorite aronofsky film so far.
seriously though, go see the wrestler. it's good. serious.
Agreed. Aronofsky's best movie as well as one of the best movies of 08. It was a damn shame that he didn't even get nominated for best director especially since Benjamin Button was nominated (2 hrs and 45 min of mediocrity)

Yeesh. I like tits as much as the next guy -- more than, in some cases -- but... Marisa Tomei in this movie... well, let's just say I believed her as a washed-up, past-her-prime stripper. Didn't she have an appendectomy scar or something? Was I supposed to find her nudity
Anyway -- very, very good film. Highly recommended. It's the part Rourke was born to play (assuming he doesn't get cast in the Octomom biopic).

I would prefer to be one of the women in red.... because I am a dirty, old whore.
Whenever I get confused about D&D alignment morality, I just imagine Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Ghandi arm wrestling shirtless on the back of a killer whale.
In other words, I remember that it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense and deal with it best I can.

I may be wrong about the scar, but I certainly found her well-cast as an aging stripper that frequently gets passed over for younger girls.
