This looked kinda cool. Win and you too can join the overworked, underpaid masses of the video game design industry. I'm going for the coffee mug.

Brief summary of the contest:
A maximum of four characters. One player character and a maximum of three non-playable characters.
A maximum of 3500 words in total including dialogue and setting.
You must tell a complete story in the form of a traditional BioWare side-quest and account for different endings/ multiple resolutions.
You are only allowed to use one 4x4 area in the Toolset to tell your whole story.
No combat or special skill use.
Just use the NWN retail toolset; don't use any community add-ons.

I don't have access to their Aurora toolset:mad:

And so you have clearly discovered the actual point of this marketing tool. "You too can be a game designer, just make sure you have NWN..."

Interesting. I just wrote a 50,000 word novel. Think I can write a module?

Oh, boy. And now the ego comes out.

"Hey did you hear I wrote a 50,000 word novel? In a month?"

"Speaking of transmissions, did I tell you about the 50,00 word novel I wrote in a month?"

"Wow, that's a great award. Almost as great as my 50,000 word novel...that I wrote in a month."

"Yeah, I could do that. I mean, I DID write a 50,000 word novel in a month..."

Just kiddin... kinda...

Here's the biggest problem I'm having. It's supposed to be non-linear. That means that the story has to come out of intereaction with the characters, but that it should be entierly up to the player how they intereact with those characters. That's going ot make it though.

Also, no combat or skill use. That makes it tougher.

Still, I'm going to give this a try.

I think if I try this, I will start with a flow chart. That might make things a bit easier.
