Okay, so it will be on a Saturday, and I've just listed a bunch of Saturdays so we can hopefully get far enough out for people to plan. Vote for a date.

We might also want to put up a poll of dates people can't make it.

I have a wedding to attend on March 12, other than that they're good.
We might also want to put up a poll of dates people can't make it.That sounds like a good idea. Cuz i can't do it the 12th or the 19th. But other then that I'm cool.

another poll?!? :nono:
what if people just let us know here what dates you can't make it?
me, i think the feb 26th and march 5th dates are too soon - my Adventure! adventure won't be ready that fast. don't even know what possessed me to put 'em on the poll.

reason i haven't voted yet is 'cause as of right now all the dates work. if i vote later i don't end up prematurely excluding anyone.

I voted the 5th, but anything after the fifth is fine too.

There is always room for another poll. :P
Yeah, creating a one shot is a lot of work because you also have to make all the characters.
One that note is there anyone who isn't running that can help make characters for any of the game be running. Could help save time.

I voted for March 19th. April 9th is the only other day I have free among those listed.
Edit: Ya know, I get the feeling that everyone who is not running a game is going to vote for earlier dates, and those of us running a game are going to vote for later dates. Hmmmm...

Perhaps we should have done the poll for the dates before we decided what games were going to be run. As it stands now, March 5th is in the lead, and I DEFINITELY can't make that day (see my post about Ashley under "Spam").

Just saw this thread (and associated ones). After reading up, this is definitely something I would be interested in doing. It looks like maybe the games are pretty much decided (What, if not exactly in what order or Who is playing in each) as this point, but I'll offer to bring a contingency adventure prepped in case something happens and a backup is needed:
TINS: Defector - Your crew is assigned to investigate and possibly retrieve a potential defector, but rumors abound and nothing is ever what it seems in the MATRIX. Who is the mysterious defector? Can they be trusted? What about the persistent rumors that it is a trap set by Agents?
[note: for info on TINS, go here: http://www.steved.org/roleplaying/rules/tins.html ]
I voted for the 5th, but really I'm available for any Saturday in March at the moment. That'll change as time goes on, of course.
Oh, and I'd be most interested in the Adventure! or Transhuman Space games, but I'm always willing to try something new as well.

Well, maybe dnd3eplayer will be able to run TNIS (damn...wish I could play that one too). Cuz if it's the 5th (as it seems it's going to be), I am a no-show, so no L5R from me.

right now the dates are sort of up in the air for me so i have yet to vote. i am tryingto eke out my work schedule but things have been bleeding into the weekend a bit lately. once i can get a handle on it i will et ya'll know.

i don't think we'll be able to use this poll. we want everyone that wants to make it to make it. so it won't be the 5th cuz gotetsu won't be able to make it.
*sigh*
which means we need another poll for people to vote on the days they CAN'T make it. then we'll know definitively what days won't work. i will post this second poll and we'll ignore this one.
is this satisfactory?
edit: just thought of something - if someone can't make it on more than one day, another poll isn't gonna work... rats. but whatever date we choose has to be a date that everyone can make it.
which means, it's important that you state here if you can't make it on a certain date. cuz it doesn't matter what dates get the most votes. the date that wins will be the date with the least amount of "i can't make it" tallies. right now, the likely candidate is the march 26th date

I'm not sure its an ideal solution, but I could setup an online calendar for scheduling this. Everyone would be able to post for each potential day whether they are available or not. We'd at least get a visual idea of what days were good or bad that way.
I was looking for some online scheduling software I could use, but didn't see anything that looked good.

it would be nice to have something like that, but i think i'm just gonna make a call right here:
anyone who canNOT make it to the march 26th date please speak up now. otherwise that becomes the date. speak up now, please.

March 26th works for me.
Ok, not to get off topic, but should each of us running a game start our own thread regarding that game, allowing those who want to play in it to "sign up" as it were?
Or should we wait until we get a schedule for the day?

Wait until we get a schedule and time. Can't be having people signing up for two games that are happening at the same time.
But we might have to arrange games based on who wants to play what. What if a GM wants to play in a game that is scheduled for the same time he’s running his? This would be a lot easier if we all had contact outside of this forum. Imagine if we were disusing this in some dinner.
“Who can’t make it the 19?”
“I can’t.’
“How about the 26?”
“That’s cool.”
“That cool with every one else?”
Nods all around.
“Now let’s settle the schedule…”
Face to face, five minutes.
Keyboard to keyboard, four days and counting.
You know, I think GURPS has a real nice supplement for handling this kind of thing…

yeah it's kind of irritating how long this is taking, but it's the nature of the beast. there are at least 12 of us that want to attend, probably even more by the looks of it.
i'll try to work up some schedules and post 'em, then we can go from there. it'll take some shuffling and stuff, but we'll get it.
don't forget, even if you don't play in your first or second choice, all the games are gonna be fun. personally, i know i'll have fun in any of the chosen games. they all sound good.

That's a pretty good point. If you're running a game, that means you still have 3 to chose from to play in. So, just make a schedule, and let people work around that. I'll be cool with whatever I get to play in. :)
True dat. It might even be kinda cool to get bumped into something you normally wouldn’t play.

I'm ok for the 26th of March.
Regarding the individual games slots, there's bound to be some conflicts there as well, especially with GMs who have some time already booked for the game they will run. Maybe we should try and match up the GMs as best we can to the games they want to play in, then open it up for player's?
Basically give the GMs 'dibs' on their first choice (as long as it isn't at the same time they are running their adventure) as thanks for stepping up to run something, then do a first-come, first serve signup for players (via post to a GM started thread) - the GM decides where to cut off the number of players based on his tastes and the adventure.
What does everyone think about that? We should have about a month (or more) to assign table slots, if we get the day decided in the next few days.

-> and I totally agree: it isn't a huge deal if you are bumped into another game that may not be your first choice. Heck, some of the best games I played in at GenConSoCal were ones I just showed up for because I didn't have anything planned at that moment.

BTW, for whatever reason, i missed this part of your post before. i think it's perfectly fine to bring along your adventure as a contingency. TINS sounds pretty dang interesting (first heard about it on RPGnet). 'slong as you understand you might not run it but you're there in case of back up.

I could probably do whatever date you guys picked, I'd just need some lead time to pass it by the little woman.
Also, I just want to confirm, this is being held at Mord's house, right?
(Dang, I wish I had been following this sooner, I would have offered to run a game, either Trek or Tribe 8, as I've been feeling both of them lately).

If people are more interested in Tribe 8 then L5R, I would give up my slot for that. As I said, I'm more inclined to be a player then a GM. :D

sorry gotetsu, but you're the man. it would be unfair to any of the others to just replace L5R with tribe 8.
that being said, i think it would be awesome for blanchprez to get a one-shot of T8 together. i'd be up for that. heck, you can even make it ready for the get-together and we could use it as a contingency, rather like dnd3eplayer's TINS matrix game.

Yeah, I'm leaning in that direction. I found a nifty little demo on the website, and it would take minimal prep-time to get it ready.
