Is this suppose to be ship combat or character combat? It would be strange if it was character combat because that never seemed like a big part of Star Trek.

from what little i've read on other forums, there will be both. the character minis will come with a co-op style ruleset where players accomplish missions and whatnot.

And here I was the fool thinking Heroclix had died off. The news mentioned something like "Star Trek changed the future" and it sounds like the new Clix are going to be a changed, <advanced> version of Clix. I wonder how much they'll change...

i've never played any flavor of heroclix, but if the actual product looks good and the price point is reasonable, i might consider picking some ships up for tabletop rpg space battle minis. i'll wait and see.

Bring them up to our new place and we'll play your spaceship games.

Like, three miles south of here. So... closer, I guess.

but you hate spaceship battles and will only consider character level skirmishes as valid.

yeah, i'd be utilizing them more as visual aids to show trajectory, relative distance, location during roleplay and less for starship battlemat rules (as i've yet to find rules i really like).

Fuck! I don't have any God-damn time for that fuckin' bullshit crap damn ass!

Maybe later.

Besides, how do you know you won't like the Clix rules? Maybe they'll be fine.

And if they aren't, I really don't see how you could object to the rules for those constructable-card spaceships... Rocketmen? Was that it? I can't remember what they're called and I already packed 'em all away.

Looks cool. I had a great time when we played the star wars mini game. I may pick some of these up.
