RSVP and Potluck

Post by cczernia »

As usual we will be doing a potluck. So go ahead and let everyone know what you'll be bringing so we don't end up with 10 bowls of potato salad :nono:

Also, that will be your RSVP. If you are bring a guest please put a note in your post.

I'll be there. I assume this is for Hyphen-Con? If not I don't know what I just signed up for.

In terms of what to bring for the Pot Luck is this for snack foods or is this for an actual dinner?

No, this is for our annual Scientology retreat. Glad to have you aboard! Praise Xenu!

Praise Xenu? Is this like a Satanist Church, but derived from Scientology rather then Christianity? If so I'll definitely be there.

And to answer your other question - we do a lunch potluck. So by all means bring an entree if you feel like.

In case they don't stop by to announce their attendance, I believe we have at least four coming down from the South Bay. What they may or may not be bringing with them, though, is a mystery.

South Bay = Chula Vista, National City, Bonita, etc.

Just sayin'...

South Bay = Torrance, Manhattan Beach, etc.

South Bay = San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, etc.

It all depends on your point of view. In this case, their point of view would be LA County ("coming down from the South Bay").

I'll be there, with at least one guest (possibly two others, but... I haven't actually invited them yet).

I'll bring my (in)famous dip once again. :)

WTF kind of job is this? Are you a security guard or a hitman or something?

Also -- what about Sunday?

I'll be there, with one guest. Maybe two.

Not sure if I'll bring anything, as I like to be a mooch. (kidding)

I think I can only handle one session, and since I'm running a game (DnD 4E), which session should I run it?

Just let us know which session (afternoon or evening) is more convenient for you.

It's unfortunate that you can only handle one session, but I understand. Hyphen-Con's a lot of awesome to take in, and not everyone's built up an appropriate tolerance level. In time, it will come to you.

I'd like to do both, but unfortunately I must take my awesomeness in moderation. I had fun with the one session last year.

I think I'd like the earlier session, unless someone is only attending the later one and specifically wants to play my game.

Some people I have invited (3+) wish to know the exact start times of each session (morning/afternoon) due to potential scheduling conflicts.

Hi everyone I'm Becky.

I am devlin1's friend. One of the people from the LA County South Bay. I hate that there are 2 South Bay's in California, not including at least 1 in every other state.

Ok so this my RSVP. As for food, I will be bringing a pasta salad. It will be something that will hold over well for a 2 hour drive down there. I also have 3 more friends coming. Alice, Desmond and Brian.

We should be arriving around 11am or 12 noon.

I am really looking forward to this. Hoping there will be enough games for the amount of people that are attending.

See you all in a couple days.

I'll be there for both rounds of awesome-ness. Being my first Hyphen-Con, I gotta jump right in there.

I'll be bringing a homemade 7-layer bean dip. Good stuff.

Was also thinking of bringing the Order of the Stick boardgame for Sunday and would be happy to help others take advantage and kill each other in cartoon/stickdom goodness. Any takers?
