Merlin on NBC
Did anyone catch Merlin last night? I thought it was mildly entertaining.

That's actually the BBC show, I believe. They already finished their 13 ep first season run. it's not bad, depending on whether you are ok with the regular 'feel' of british tv (which I find slightly different than american). Also, you definitely can't be a stickler for 'authenticity' in your Aruthurian legends, because they play with it a bit.
You do get to see Anthony Head (Giles from Buffy) as a somewhat bastardly Uther Pendragon also.

NBC is showing a BBC show in prime time on Sunday nights? Wow, that's bizarre.

Thats what I was thinking too. And I missed it. I'll have to see if I can catch it next week.
Not horrible, but I couldn't get through the first episode, myself.
That sounds pretty horrible, actually.

Look at its time slot and you will see why I have some trouble with it. It's geared for young children not adults. And as far as playing with the legend a bit...well...I think that they kept only a bit of the legend. The dragon is cool though but I have always liked John Hurt.

I watched a bit of it last night. It reminded me a little of the BBC Robin Hood show. Diverting, but not something I'd consider a "necessary" show (i.e. if I missed an episode, I wouldn't feel like I missed out).
Hey man, I'm slinging volume and fat stacking benjies, you know what I mean? I can't be all about spelling and shit!

I like Robin Hood better, but yeah they both have the same British take/update feel to the old legends.

Considering these are British myths to begin with, I think they have the right to alter them a bit.
