I log on at least every other day, and rarely see new posts concerning games occurring. I see a lot of general chit-chat about spam and other things dredged up off the web. Do you people out there play RPG's, but not discuss it, or are your groups so full that you don't advertise their existence?
In my case it's the former; I rarely discuss our games and when I do it goes on the blog; but if anyone is interested in joining a Gods & Monsters game in Normal Heights let me know. We play sporadically on Saturday nights, though it should become moderately less sporadic now that summer is over with.

There was also Andrew's really good idea of meeting weekly, but I don't know if it is still going on (Wednesdays weren't good for me).

There are a fair number of private forums here at rpg-sandiego used by the various game groups. I've tried to encourage people to make them public for this very reason (so people know that gaming is occuring) but the choice ultimately rests with the individual group.

I can assure you, however, that there are active gaming groups that post here.

I play in three different games right now: Star Trek (which meets every other Friday), D&D Ptolus (which meets every other Sunday) and Mutants and Masterminds (which just started up and will only be a monthly game, alas).

I'm pretty busy as far as games go. And all three of those games have group forums here. Two are, I think, private, so aren't shown.

I game every weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday, and I'm still looking for more vics, I mean, players. When I first got into the area, my fiancee (also a gamer) introduced me to the group she was gaming with, but we no longer attend, for a multitude of reasons.

I really see no need to post about a campaign specifically (unless it's PbP), although particularly amusing (or spectacular) antics might make it onto the boards.

Yeah, Zelda's hot, but Samus does that thing with her gun . . . . :naughty::eek:

Our game-group specific forums are more for people to talk about scheduling and/or specifics about the group, like chargen, new game ideas, etc. Also, there's sometimes PC logs (like a post-adventure journal that the character writes or something similar). We don't usually post actual-play threads, although that's been known to happen on occasion.

I'd be happy to allow the FUBAR forum to be made public, but as soon as I start getting "Need a new player" request, I'd pull it right back.

So, Winter, feel free to make FUBAR public.

I game every week in Clairmont, and everyweek I post to our groups forums, its called the Champions and I tend to forget its kinda secret. But most of the stuff we do in the Champions forums is scheduling, figuring out if we should bring food, and doing character creation.

I've been running Conspiracy X 2.0 for about a month now. I just posted a summary of how its been going on Rpg.net
The campaign is entitled Unseen Victories, and focuses on the strain between the conspirators private, professional, and secret lives. The campaing opened with "Hidden Assets" which featured one of the characters, Shi Shuhan Aegis remote viewer leading a team of covert operatives on a seek and destroy mission to cover up a crashed alien ship before it could be recovered by enemy forces, meanwhile unawares a DEA agent was pulling off a martime raid on a gun runner thought be smuggling drugs while a CIA agent surveyed the operation.

The freighter as it turned out, contained a concealed shipment of human fetuses in suspended animation. Something that shocked the DEA agent, and his superiors and led to the group getting together as the Aegis operative ended up recruiting all the other PCs in order to aquire the fetuses.

Episode two: "From the Shadows" saw our two new recruits coming to terms with the shadowy world of Conspiracy X. Vincent Kozek (DEA) and Nathan Muir (CIA) became new members of Ms. Suhan's cell whose remaining members were Dr. Edwin F. Evans, a high energy physicist and "Doris" an aging NPC assassin.

The players brought their influences to bear constructing a base over the course of six months of down time, as well as appropriating the cell's old base a small diner that concealed an underground facilities built into a circa 1962 bomb shelter. Doris was assigned a cover as the manager of the diner.

The cell's new base became the sub-basements of a downtown Saint Paul corporate office building. Linked to their old base/new safehouse by a circuitous underground tunnel.

Acting on the clairvoyant visions of the Remote Viewer: Ms. Suhan the PCs investigated a small farming community in Langdon, Illinois whose children where disappearing. Long story short they discovered it wasn't just any kids but specifically twins, many of whom were physically deformed were being abducted by mysterious Men in Black and taken in the dead of night to a military base.

Observing the base they witnesses strange happenings, including the appearance of a shining silver flying saucer. Suffice it to say that they caused some trouble and then bugged out for the night. Later they decided to kidnap some kids too before the Men in Black could. And they did so. They also discovered that something was wrong with these kids. The episode stretched over the course of three sessions. And yes I'm being intentionally vague.

Anyway, last monday's episode was the conclusion to a two parter called "Night Terrors," where they grappled with a insane serial killer that had transformed into some kind of flying beast, and one of there number got contaminated by the thing. They also unknowingly dealt with a ghost. And commited several small crimes including arson. Ms. Suhan went out on a date with her ex-boyfriend Mark Banno who works for Prospharma, a drug company. She took him out on a date so an spy that looks exactly like her could conduct some industrial espionage, while breaking into Mr. Banno's company office and home.

Next weeks session is entitled "Crash," its about another alien ship crashing into Lake Superior, and the ramifications of a prescripted car crash when the PCs try to investigate. Kinda railroady except that I'm opening in media res with the car crash and seeing if they want to proceed with the investigation or look into why the hell someone crashed into them. I've got stuff prepped for either eventuality or both. Mainly it deals with a new drug hitting the streets right out Kozeks background, the drug is a super stimulant called N. Secretly Prospharma has something to do with it, and so does the NDD. Ooo secret underground bases oh my! And the other stuff deals with the crashed Saurian crescent and the NDD.

After that is "Fallout," which focuses on the personal and private lives of the characters with the last mission Aegis Prime is going to assign them going on in the background.

Then I've got "Invasion?" prepped which is about a terrorist/alien attack, people being rounded up into evacuation/detention centers, and marshal law being declared.

Finally the campaign should end with a bang with the final two episodes: "When the Mask Slips," revealing all is not what it seems with Aegis and the NDD, and "The Costs of Victory" which should detail the aftermath and consquences of the campaign before wrapping things up.
I keep meaning to write an actual play but I'm usually to forgetful to remember the specifics of what they did after a couple days. Which is why I keep notes, still I can't remember who said what...

Sup all,

I am moving down to the San Diego area for a new job next week and would like to meet up with some gamers in the area. I'm not too picky about what I play or run but my game of choice is GURPS.

Personally I like 3rd edition GURPS a lot better then their new 4th edition but I am really willing to play anything.

I'm also a huge Amber fan and I'm always willing to play or run Amber.

I'm 32, married with 3 kids with another one in the oven. I'm moving out to San Diego to take over as the assistance IT manager for a couple of the Marriott hotels out there. My family might not be making the move with me at first so I think I'm going to have a LOT of free time over the next few weeks.

It's also possible that I can get us a room at one of the hotels if we are in need of a place to play at.

Anyone out there have any GURPS games in need of more players?

Hey Shoby, I shot you an E-Mail last night with the details of where and when my GURPS/D&D group meets. We could always squeeze in another player, or six. Get in touch when you're down here. From Mad Douglas ( Mongo ).
