Totally. Another Forum would be quite helpful.

By the way, is there any rule against using an already used citation? Can two people cite the same source?

Good question. The rules themseves don't say you can't but I get the feeling that you're not supposed to. What does everyone think?

The reason I wondered this was I couldn't figure out the rationale behind the 24th and 25th turn having fewer *false* citations.

But this creates other problems. "Who got it first" if two people cite the same thing.

The other thing I was wondering is do we want to call "dibs" on the phantom citations? That way, two or more people aren't all writting enteries for the same title.

This sounds liike a good idea. You can put who has dips on the same post where you list the citations. BTW - who are we waiting on to finish A, I ready for E...

no, wait, I mean B.

I think it would be ok as long as you have the right no. of phantom posts. It also seems like you should be able to make more then three citations as long as the total no. of new phantom posts remain the same.

I think we should only call dibs during the trun just before. So if you want to call dibs on "Dragons, Super Cool" you would have to wait until Turn C.

Kind of like waiting til you're outside to call shotgun.

From what I can gather, it’s not the number of times an entry is sited that’s important it’s that there are the proper no. of phantom citations and that all phantom citations get an entry. Important events and people will be cited multiple times while minor events may not be cited at all.

On a side note I’m a little worried that some of the posts might have too much information in them. *cough* BoC *cough* CZ
It’s just that we don’t want to be referring to too many countries and historical events every turn. Two things. A, it’s going to get real hard to keep track of. And B, what someone refers to as a major historical event my never get talked about again. Just a thought.

On another side note it’s going to be interesting to compile a world map after this is all done. :D

I agree with all of the above as well. Let's try to keep it within the 200 word limit.

Also, I dont have a problem with duplicate citations, for all the reasons Jake pointed out.

It’s not the word count that I’m talking about. It’s the number of facts. I just worry about things getting left behind when they should be talked about in latter entries.
Here are some of your items that I think would be important to talk about
Elven kingdom of Gwathgil
Yulshan
Elven war machine
The Reconscruction
And The Conferation
I’d hate to see something as cool as demon powered war machines not get the attention it deserves.

I think that's up to us as players in this game to decide what we think is cool enough to cite.

Yes that’s all fine and well BoC. I’m all for self regulation. I’m just saying that if we keep referring to too many historical events every post it’s going to be too much too soon and there won’t be any point to it.

I understand that... it looks like so far we have two elven kingoms, Yulshan just adds to the number of dragons, the elven war machine was more of a reference to the fighting forces as a whole not a demon powered war machine. The Reconstruction could be something in an isolated area, same with the Confederation.

Has anyone looked at all the info here? I've been triying to orginize all this before I post the next round.
Nations: Horntangle (Elf), Westmarch, The Freelands, Gwathgil (Elf), Confederation of Nations, Iron Freeholds
Port of Atland on the Isle of Dengen in the Elder Sea located between the elven and human settlements.
All significant nations united with Dragonsduring the Wars, except The Freelands.
Not to mention the numerous organizations religious or otherwise. I was thinking that after we do the 26 turns we should go back fill it out with entries that we think we need mentioning.

Defianitly. I was hoping a couple of groups would actually take the setting and use it. We could later flesh it out with classes and other d20 nonsence. I would love to play in a Dragon Wars game (not to sure about running one).

Majority rules on rpg-sandiego. :thwack:

Well, if you want to flesh it out in GURPS that is fine. Just make sure you create the "Pick of Dragon Slaying" and "the autolure." Actually, I wonder how long it would take Uhlan to stat out the autolure in Hero 5... I would say 2 or 3 days. :P

And you can't convert it to GURPS 3rd edition. It has to be 4th because 4th is like 'the new thing in gaming, man" STREAMLINED

Don't say that! We'll get a dozen rules conversions before we know it.

BP/Gotetsu - d20

Jake - GURPS

CZ - Silhouette

Uhlan - Hero 5

BoC - rolemaster or EABA

Smartmonkey - Unknown Armies or Nobilis

Mordrain - Storyteller

Skyman - BRP

When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped, it always lands with the buttered side facing down. I propose to strap buttered toast to the back of a cat. The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.
