Schedule of the Schedule (I couldn't decide)

Post by devlin1 »

So! When's good for people to have our first session? In the interest of giving people time to get some semblance of a character together before things begin, we're looking at March 7, 14, 21, or 28.

Since Hyphen-Con will probably happen on April 4th, I'd prefer, say, March 14th. Maybe if we're lucky, we could do our second session on April 3rd, the night before Hyphen-Con.

Everyone still good for the 14th? That's next weekend, for those of you without calendars.

Re: this Saturday - it occurs to me that we haven't discussed start time. Being that Albert will be occupado until evening, and also that Chris and I will be attending a World Baseball Classic game in the afternoon, I suggest we set the start time at 5:30pm. Does that work for everyone?

WTF is a World Baseball Classic game?

Otherwise, yes.

It'll work even better if people can get at least a little of their characters posted beforehand -- skills, a few phases, etc.

I found out that the baseball game is on Sunday not Saturday. So we don't necessarily have to wait if people want to start earlier.

World Baseball Classic = MLB's attempt to simulate the success of soccer with the World Cup. They are having some games at Petco Park here in SD. We're going to a game with Japan vs. Opponent to be Named Later (after 1st rnd pool play is finished).

Actually, I'm having lunch with Nat earlier in the day, so I expect to be there on time. Nat himself can't make it -- he has a bachelor party, of all things.

Idaho? Yeah, he just got back, like, two weeks ago. He'd been there since mid-November.

He is, however, in for Hyphen Con.

Thanks for the game Saturday night, fellas. Sorry I was late getting there, and sorry we got started so late (actually, I'm laying that one on you character-not-having-made-in-advance guys), and sorry for the near-total lack of anything approaching a story. That's what happens when I pull a game out of my ass like that -- there's a lot of "um... so..." and nothing really happens. But I have two weeks to make sense out of four dead merchants and medieval fantasy ninjas, so things will be better in that regard next time.

Speaking of next time -- I don't remember if I mentioned it to everyone, but I wanted to play in two weeks, on April 3rd, the night before Hyphen Con. Otherwise, I doubt I'll be able to find the time in April to go down there again, and I really don't want to wait two months between our first and second sessions. Is everyone okay with that?

Also, I'm going to start another thread here for feedback and lessons learned that we can hopefully add to as we go, so be on the lookout for that. Excitement!

Whatever time Andy gets home. I'm probably going to drive down early afternoon, just to avoid the traffic.

Andy, is it okay if I break & enter if I get to your place before you?

How's May 30th for people? Gamex is the previous weekend.

Alternately, I could do the 16th, if that's better (the weekend before Gamex and after Mother's Day).

I'm probably good for either, but today has been a freaking hectic day so my head is not thinking clearly right now.

Yeah, no kidding. I'm starting to think I'll just run that Starblazer demo twice -- except that I don't have any of it written, and the game itself is only marginally more substantial right now.
