Boardgame Meet-up
judging by the numerous responses on another thread, i would like to suggest our first annual rpg-sandiego boardgame day. since there is ample space to accomodate for this at a game store, i'd like to suggest game empire, albeit nothing's final. so far i've seen illuminati, robo rally, once upon a time, talisman, and diplomacy among a slew of others being pimped.
two things to settle:
when is a good date for this?
what games do people own and would like to play?

I own frag and one expansion pack. The one with the lava.
My attendance isn't guaranteed quite yet. Still dealing with cash-flow issues.
since i haven't read any alternatives to game empire, does anyone have an idea about which days the store isn't as full of tourney-goers/regulars?
The ones that don't end in Y? As for dates, let's try and do it sooner rather than later, since things get really hectic leading up to Christmas.

hmm. something tells me if this doesn't happen soon, it won't happen. and also, nothing's to stop us from having this be a semi-regular thing, so we can have multiple nights (so after new year's is a definite possibility).
as for right now, how do folk's tuesdays, wednesdays, thursdays, or saturdays look? i'm free except for the thursday the 1st, saturday the 3rd, and wednesday the 7th.

I vote for after the new year. I'm going to have enough trouble getting time to do the WLD game next month, nevermind something extra like this.

I'm up for it... Wednesday's work okay for me. I could leave work early and meet up someplace.
Whenever I get confused about D&D alignment morality, I just imagine Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Ghandi arm wrestling shirtless on the back of a killer whale.
In other words, I remember that it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense and deal with it best I can.
good point.
sundays are better for me than saturdays. does that work for everyone else?
Sunday is the perfect day for things like this. If we are going to tackle Twilight Imperium, then we will need some time. I would recommend 3rd ED TI because it is faster than 2nd Edition. I could bring that if we decide to play it.

So anyone actually want to do this thing and get some people together for a board game meet up?

Maybe we could make this part of National Games Weekend?

That sounds like a good plan... when is National Games Week again?
