The Monster's Revenger PC's

Also known as 'The Hyph' or the more wordy 'rpg-sandiego all-day meet-up'. This is the place to discuss everything related to our yearly November mini-con.

The Monster's Revenger PC's

Post by BlanchPrez »

Well, since it seems likely that I'll be running this, I figured I should post as well.

Just as a reminder...

The Monster's Revenge (4th Edition D&D)
The humans and their elven allies have trodden on your people long enough. First, they drive you away, then they declare you a threat and hunt you for sport. It is time for the tribes of the badlands to unite and strike back. You are one of the best of your tribe, and have been selected by the elders to work with the best of other tribes to enter the human lands, strike at one of their castles, and capture the princess that lies there. Bring her back alive so the tribal shamans can sacrifice her to the tribes dark Gods and bless the war that is to come. It is time for the Monster's Revenge!

Markol: Male Minotaur Barbarian. You care not for the reasons you fight, only as long as you get to. You have long thrown yourself into the glory of battle, losing yourself to your rages. Though you have been honored again and again for your bravery in battle, few know that the truth is you are hoping to one day be killed, so that you might again join your wife and child, killed by humans many years ago, who now live on the Astral Sea, awaiting you. You gladly volunteered for this quest not only for some revenge, but also in the hopes that it would be your last.

Dorgar: Male Bugbear Warden. You have defended your tribe for as long as you could remember. As a child, even, you protected those younger than you. When you were called to join the ranks of the wardens, protectors of not only your tribes, but of the very land itself, you happily accepted. You live for duty. When the tribal elders asked you to join this quest, even though it meant working with tribes commonly your enemies, such as the minotaurs and hobgoblins, you did without question. It is your duty to protect the tribes, and if sacrificing this princesses succeeds in that goal, that you will gladly capture here for the tribal priests.

Karnia: Female Orc Druid. The humans have spent far to long despoiling the land. They think they own it, that it is their right to trample it down, to reshape it to their desires. They even call your homeland the Wastes, as if the desert you live in had no redeeming value. You have fought them for the past few moons, using your powers over the earth and shapshifting abilities to kill many of the dispoilers. They call you evil, and yet the resort to killing just as quickly. If it is evil to protect ones home, that you will show them what evil truly looks like.

Smaul: Male Goblin Shaman. Until recently, you were but a second to your tribes shaman. Then, last winter, he died. You have tried to fill in his shoes, but you feel unconfident, and the tribe chief knows this. He has pushed you around, not keeping his disgust at you hidden. When the congrataion of all the tribes asked for heroes, he loudly suggested you should go in the hopes that you would be killed off. When the tribal elders accepted, he and you both expressed shock, but his outrage that you were given not only the mission but its leadership made you smile. You would prove to the elders that their choice was not the wrong one. At least, you hope you will.

Frunnel: Female Hobgoblin Rogue. You were always more comfortable in the regimented barracks and towns of your own hobgoblin race that in the primitive, shamanistic lifestyle the other tribes lived. And your skill as a spy and assassin never failed you in taking down tribal enemies, even those that wielded the primal powers. But you also respected those champions you have killed over the years, and that made you perfectly suitable for this mission. Plus, your knowledge of how cities and buildings generally are laid out should aid you in finding and capturing this princess. You just need to remind yourself that you’re here to capture her, not kill her.
