Post by Count Zero »

I finished this about an hour ago. Its a Mid-Nor Cyclops from Confrontation. Sorry the lighting sucks.

Nice!

Can I offer a comment?

The sword looks a little flat... you should add something to it to spurce it up. A little highlight or some blood maybe?

Of course, that could just be the lighting, in which case ignore this. :)

I had an issue with my sealer blowing a white dust on the miniature. I had to go back and touch up a bunch of it. The sword just got neglected. I am currently touching it up and adding a bunch of rust to it.

Did you use inks on the shading? It looks great.

Basically, most of the miniature got a brown, blue and green wash somewhere along the way after I did the basic purple skin tone. It gives it a slight bruised look here and there.

The hair was painted dark blue, inked green and then I did layers going from the dark blue, to turquiose, then green,

The "copper" parts were washed with an odd green I picked up sometime along the way and the "steel" parts were washed with a rust brown to make them look... well rusty.

One thing I am proud of is the hair on the back was missing a big chunk due to a mismold, so I molded some hair out of green stuff.
