Yeah... I saw this on the news the other day. That sort of stuff is insane for soccer.
I have to admit I made the mistake of reading the comments. I always make the mistake of doing that. I am starting to think that if you are going to post on the internet, you have to reveal your home address and phone number.

Whenever I get confused about D&D alignment morality, I just imagine Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Ghandi arm wrestling shirtless on the back of a killer whale.
In other words, I remember that it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense and deal with it best I can.
Oh, it's the same or worse in men's soccer.
To that degree? Really? I mean, I know that soccer get's pretty rough, but she was playing like it was a hockey match. She was pretty over the top, and not "for a girl," just in general.

I've only watched a few men's soccer games, but I always got the impression that the "victims" of those kinds of fouls often oversell them. I mean, a little trip and the guy is laying on the ground wailing like a 2-month old with a shitty diaper. I wonder how many of these girls do that? Some of the "tripping" in this video looked to me to be just plain old "going after the ball" and the trippee sold it like a pro wrestler.
Just my opinion.

"Don't do that! I peed a little." - Cthulhu after Infernus made an impressive Intimidate roll.
I've watched a fair bit of soccer (my son's a big fan). It can get rough. The girl in that vid doesn't seem to be doing anything that I haven't seen in men's matches. There were some egregeous actions (the punch in the back and the yanking of the girl to the ground), but you'll notice also that before the back punch, she was elbowed in the chest. And the girl who was dragged down was yanking on her pants right before (and she looks like she was acting when she hit the ground). The other girls were inciting her.
As Tom says, a lot of guys (and girls) act it up when tripped. They're trying to get a call from the ref. It's almost comical. But that doesn't mean that it's not a rough sport. The players are very competitive and it's a pretty contact heavy sport.
Not to defend her actions or anything, but I think this particular girl was singled out a bit unfairly. That kinda shit happens a lot.
