Re: Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG

Oh, whoops, forgot to log in! There's still plenty of room for this game, so I would encourage folks to sign up for the meetup.http://www.meetup.com/sd-dnd/events/49141762/

Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG

You’re no hero.  You’re an adventurer: a reaver, a cutpurse, a heathen-slayer, a tight-lipped warlock guarding long-dead secrets. You seek gold and glory, winning it with sword and spell, caked in the blood and filth of the weak, the dark, the demons, and the vanquished. There are treasures to be wo...

Is anybody out there playing Pathfinder?

I've been out of the loop for a while, and I'd like to get into a new group again. I'd really like to try Pathfinder, But I'd be willing to play D&D 3.5 or 4E. I'm looking for a weekend group that meets 4-5 hours every 1-2 weeks. Any longer than that, my family starts to get jealous. If anyone h...

Simple enough, give them the spotlight. Focus on one PC's storyline at a time, preferably switching up every session. I've found that too much mechanical shoe-horning just frustrates players even more. If it gets too bad, step down as GM for awhile. Explain why you're doing so. Let a few of the othe...

Hmm. Yep, that settles it for me. I was on the fence for while, but now Obama will have to do something incredibly stupid to turn me off. In the country, even people who fit negative stereotypes have the right to vote. It may seem petty and frivolous to let an anti-D&D remark sway my vote, but w...

Also available

I'm also in the UTC area. I'm available most weekends, and could be persuaded to DM. I like to both play a PC and DM, so if someone else is also interested in DMing I'll defer.

True 20?

I'd also be interested in trying it. 2x a month on Saturday is perfect for me as well. If a Saturday group is out there or forming, please let me know.

I was in the closet until just recently. I'm a little shy to begin with, and as a child of the 80's I reflexively flinch when I hear a gamer joke. I used to explicitly lie and say I played poker, but I won't do that anymore. I admitted to taking vacation time to see Revenge of the Sith, so my co-wor...

I've always found Pat Robertson darkly amusing in a Rush Limbaugh kind of way, but there's nothing funny about this. What a fucking hypocrite.

I broke my CCG addiction years ago. AEG's house RP system is fun, but I found their D20 products to be a little clumsy. Love the 7th Sea, though!

Seriously, though...

The trouble with your personal uber-cool setting is that, once you get it perfect, you let your players wander around in it, and they don't find everything as uber- cool as you do. So you adjust.

If you remember when d20s wer 2 colored and marked 0-9 twice, If you use a trick with a d6 and d10 to roll a d20, If you pulled chits out of a bag to roll d20, If you've ever read a copy of "the" Dragon. If you hid your copy of Deities and Demigods because of the "dirty" pictures...

I realized this myself the other day. I used to be a voracious novel reader. I haven't actually read any fiction to completion in a long time. However, I have multiple gaming books for perusal in my bathroom. I haven't actually been able to play in months, but I'm reading rulebooks every day. It's m...

Geezer gamers!

If you know what THAC0 means,
If your "Basic Set" was blue,
If you remember when the Forgotten Realms was new,
If you know the secret of the Barrier Peaks,
If you are still waiting for Tom Hanks to apologize to gamers,

Keep 'em coming. This is great!

Champions? Somebody wants to run Champions?

I could go for Champs in Mira Mesa. It's been over ten years, but I think I remember how to count Body damage. It might be fun to bring an old hero out of retirement (adjusted for background and point totals, of course).
