I'm open to changing the combat rules but I think everyone should remember that it goes both ways. As such I would expect to have some member of the party killed or maimed within a couple of sessions. This is how it should be since I'm not very fond of clubing baby seals.

Given the one-off nature of FF, you would only need to play VII. There are a lot of little details you miss if you haven't played the game but the eyecandy more than makes up for it.

It looks like Square has come a long way since FF:Spirits Within. The human animation is quite a bit more natural and fluid. Overall its just stunning.
