Wizards actually has quite a bit to say on this subject. Surprisingly, they advocate giving the players alot of creative control. I have to say that I agree. Your players have a huge amount to offer the game. Just reacting to what you (the GM) have set out before them doesn't seem all that exciting....

Having like dice cancel each other seems to make sense to me. Think of it in terms of fencing. Jack and Sam are the same age, with similar build, and comparable reflexes. They both trained in the same defensive styles, but their offenses are wildly different. Does one have an advantage here? Not rea...

I like BP's idea for using surges to recharge encounter powers. The temp HP or unrestricted minor action usage would mean you'd need to ramp up the difficulty of your encounters, just to keep them challenging. Maybe the other option is just to HR them out? Given the sporadic nature of your group, I ...

The trick here is the fact that these kids are home-schooled. As such, they're not the pop-culture repositories that we gamers tend to be, and so, their thought patterns may be a bit . . . alien to what you're used to. While it's something I tend to do anyway, here I'd use the first session (or two)...

As If Hollywood Hadn't Already Pissed Me Off . . . .
I had heard rumblings and whispers that Nightmare On Elm Street was going to be rebooted, but have only just confirmed it. Normally, I'd suck it up, as I've done with dozens of other re-makes . . . until I found out that Robert Englund would not be playing Freddy! So now, I seek input from the SD-RP...

Bullshit yes, but let us savor the irony of the books which were pulled/deleted. I haven't seen the movie yet, but it seems that for quite a few members of our community, this is like Pulp Fiction for me. I've heard praise and commendation for that movie ad nauseam, but I fail to see why it's such a great flick. It was, to me, an exercise in confusion. All I remember from it is ...
