I had to double-check to make sure this wasn't my original post, as I am running a 4E game on Thursday nights and my place is too small to host. But I start at 6:30, not 6:00. This was the crucial clue. Also, the game ended up being played up in Mira Mesa.

I'll try to be vague. In the kobold lair, they all died. Mind you, they did bring it on themselves, with bad luck and poor tactics. Splitting the party when outnumbered is going to get you in trouble.

I hadn't heard of GameRave either until I looked up Free RPG Day, but I decided to give it a try. The reason they did the promotion is because they are going into the RPG business after Comic-Con. They also plan to open up their upstairs to have a gaming area. They certainly seem enthusiastic, at th...
Game Empire, Pair A Dice, and Artifex (in Mira Mesa) are both hosting DnD Game Day on June 7th, where you can preview 4E, etc. There's also a place in Oceanside.
But I don't want to wait until June 7. That is many many days away. I want to start playing noooowwwww! ^^
There'll be a bunch of 4E games and demos at GameX over Memorial Day Weekend -- another fine opportunity to check out the future of gaming.
Yeah, I saw that, but while I am excited about 4E, I am not Drive-To-Los-Angeles excited. ^^

Looking To Give Fourth Edition A Try?

I've ordered the first fourth edition D&D module, Keep on the Shadowfell, because I want to see if 4E is as good as the hype. But I need players. And a place to play since I have no air conditioning in my tiny apartment. The module comes out next week, a month ahead of the rulebooks, but it has ...

Say, I like gaming. And summer. Well, not so much summer, since I don't have air conditioning. I'm mainly interested in giving 4E a try and would certainly be willing to GM, but am open to other ideas. And I live in Hillcrest.
ME: I work for EDS on the NMCI project. I am a solutions test engineer at the facility on Hancock just behind the Sports Arena. I live in a cubicle farm... I enjoy it. Lots of downtime... I don't like NMCI, but they pay well, so I can't complain much.
I am so, so sorry.

While I would not want to run another normal D&D game, if you want to give Iron Heroes a try I would be willing to GM that.

Wow, that sounds like a great little fight. I especially liked the eating contest and turning the crowd into a terrain feature, and let's not forget Wang Hsi courageously (for does the whole land not speak of the courage of the insetimable Wang Hsi?) giving up his share of the glory of the combat to...

As I'd be coming from San Diego, Escondido would be preferable to Vista for me. Would the first meeting be used for character creation, or should we try and accomplish that beforehand? I can get my hands the GURPS 4th edition books, but I don't have Banestorm, and there's not much info to work with ...

Official Forums are back!

But tragically, they had to start over from scratch. Brad says that hopefully the old posts can be turned into a searchable web page at some point in the future.

GURPS Fantasy, hmm? This intrigues me. I played GURPS many editions ago, so I have some familiarity with the system. I will have to learn more of this Banestorm world.
My point is, though, it's not like taking a -4 to hit, and so on. Disarms generally occur in pretty limited circumstances (as written). Also, recovering a dropped weapon is brutally easy, so unless you Disarm someone at range while they're on a boat and their sword drops into the ...

I was only talking about the dancing. Even the lamest character dances in WoW are better than the ones we see in that video. Making the monsters dance would be pretty sweet, though.

WotG Question

Great time for the Eos Press forums to be hacked. I'm running the end of Auspicious Beginnings tomorrow and I wanted to ask for suggestions on ways to encourage characters to use that Lightfooty goodness and move around the battlefield, rather than just stay in one spot and slug it out with their fo...
