Neither one has an eyepatch . That being said, and critiquing in terms of their surrounding culture, rather than anachronistically considering them as independent entities, I've got to go with Han because he established the archetype in science-fiction film and Mal inevitably borrowed traits from Han.

...who wants to come with? Right now I really want to see Sweeny Todd and I Am Legend, but I'm not going to bother if I have to go by myself.
If gaming is absolutely required, I can be convinced to bring ZOMBIES!!! to I Am Legend. ;)

Battletech, Starship Troopers, or Star Trek: Starship Combat Simulator
The title pretty much says it all, really.
Any one of the above, two to four players preferable, location and date negotiable. Knowledge of any of the above systems is unnecessary (I can teach); and I can provide enough forces for anyone who shows up.

Given that I no longer expect artistry of any sort in movies, I think both should at least be entertaining. The Dark Knight will probably be more artful, but Iron Man will have stompy powered armor suits, which suits me just fine. What surprised me poking around is that there's rumors of a Robotech ...

That's just it. It was a in-person PnP group, but then one of the players is shipping out and he'd still like to play (after going without for so long) and I'd like to Do My Part (TM) for morale. So it's going to be mostly PBeM. The system we're using is FASA's percentile-die based Star Trek Rolepla...

I agree with Count Zero on this one. If the DoJ statistics are anything to go by, people are slowly getting less violent over time. Unfortunately, contentment breeds sloth and apathy, while fear gets ratings and votes. It doesn't matter if the kids aren't killing anyone; what's important is that eve...

Yes, I live! I know I disappeared for a while but, as UberSnotling can tell you, that's because I attached myself to a gaming group like a remora attaches itself to a shark and was generally having a high old time. Once two games sort of drew themselves down, and a USN lieutenant joined up, I offere...

Same question as with modern fusion experiments, though... does one get more energy out of this process than one puts into it (via the radio)? Example Character Biographies?
I was kicking around the ol' hard drive and came across this, a bio for the fellow whose paper silhouette I happen to use as an avatar for these boards. http://www.weirdozone.com/games/startrek/Diniyyun.pdf It's an example of the sort of biographies I write up even if I don't really have to. Well, assuming the datacards avoid any sort of picture, it makes sense that one could fit really-condensed-rules and a statline on them. The reason why I figure vehicle damage rules should be different (although yes, for abstraction and playability reasons I generally prefer a same-system-for-all bi...

Agreed, roll to hit/wound is silly. I much prefer the abstraction used in Starship Troopers . As it seems you're already aiming for 'realism' via lots of specific modifiers, you may as well throw in vehicles. Vehicles aren't people, though, and so their damage system should probably be quite differe...

I see D10s. I like it already. [after quick read-through] Like any skirmish game with more than three attributes per model, I could see this bogging down really quickly. Well, in my thinking, Yoda is an idiot. Fear is, again, natural and serves a very important purpose: one who truly lives without fear tends to not live very long. Anger is the same way.
